We’re all the same aren’t we? Members of NABG predominantly live in the same
geographical, social and economic bubble. We are indeed living on an island. So I
want to try again this year to collect the groups desert island discs choices to see
how similar we are in our musical tastes. What a relief it would be if we have, at
least, a diverse range of preferences in music.
This idea got very little traction at last year’s Choosing: not necessarily
because I couldn’t attend in person to make my pitch. I accept you may still think
it’s a crap idea: so be it.
The evening will run with people telling us what their 8 discs are. Afterwards I
will collate these and look for any patterns to see just how diverse we are in this
one aspect of our lives. It will be interesting also if people want to offer a few
words on the reasons for their choices but the evening will not be long enough to
allow you to tell us your whole life story!
