The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling by Henry Fielding (1749) 768 pp Theme: Roistering and wenching
The hook is the book itself, the film adaptation and a reconstruction of Tom's journey
from Somerset to London involving a stay at two or three historic inns en route. I feel
the group would benefit from a trip away and the equivalent of an 18th century pub crawl
to include drinking and brawling would be good for bonding and the perfect antidote to
all this wokery we are now subjected to in Bishopston.
